Heading:
Dr. Israr Ahmad (26 April 1932 – 14 April 2010) was a prominent Pakistani Islamic scholar, philosopher, and theologian, known for his influential role in Islamic revivalism. A former member of Jamaat-e-Islami, he founded Tanzeem-e-Islami in 1975, emphasizing the need for a Quran-centered Islamic state and rejecting electoral politics in favor of a revolutionary Islamic movement. His teachings focused on the restoration of the caliphate and the application of Sharia in all spheres of life.
Ahmad authored over 60 books and gained widespread recognition through his televised lectures on Pakistan Television (PTV) during the 1980s. He was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 1981 for his contributions to Islam and continued to inspire followers across South Asia and the Muslim diaspora. Ahmad passed away in 2010 after stepping down from Tanzeem-e-Islami due to health issues in 2002.
Jamiat is devoutly committed to building a strong and developed Pakistan.
