Students are the future of any nation. The development of any country depends on how much that nation invests in its youth. The better the Human Capital Index of a country, the more likely that nation will develop and move forward. The number of youth in Pakistan is more than 60 percent. These youth are anxious to make their future and their families brighter. But the tragedy is that there is no permanent and long-term planning for them in the country of Pakistan. The political, social, economic, judicial, and educational instability of Pakistan is pushing today’s youth into the darkness of despair. Every year, thousands of educated youth prefer to leave the blessed country of Pakistan. In such a situation, the knowledge-based, social, economic, and community activities of the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba are a ray of hope for these desperate youth and also a promise of a bright future.
TecnoFest, BizzTech, Tech-Spark, Next-Gen
Through activities like Expos and Talent Award Shows, 1 million students annually ignite their spirits and develop their talents.
Since its establishment on December 23, 1947, the Islami Jamiat Talaba has been committed to the mission of building human lives. It enlightens students with the teachings of Islam. It purifies their beliefs and thoughts. It builds their character and character. It makes them the best and most useful members of society. And it prepares and prepares students to play their role in the struggle to make Pakistan an Islamic and welfare state. The motto of the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba is “Achieving the pleasure of God by building human life according to the principles laid down by Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him)” clarifies its objectives. The Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba organizes various training workshops to build the personality and character of students on Islamic lines, from which 12,000 students pass out annually.
The Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba is playing its role in the promotion of knowledge by providing quality education in coaching centers and winter camps for students from remote areas of Gilgit, Chitral, Swat, Malakand, Murree, and Balochistan.
The struggle to protect the rights of students and solve their problems is the specialty of the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba. Be it an increase in fees or unavailability of facilities in educational institutions, issues of harassment or the increasing use of drugs, or problems with hostels or transport, the Union is at the forefront and tries to solve these problems at every level.
Along with this, career counseling of students, internships, payment of fees of deserving students, guidance regarding admissions in educational institutions, guidance in preparation for exams, and skill development programs are excellent efforts for the betterment of the student community.
The internal setup of the Islamic Students' Union is also an example of its own, like its glorious past. It is the only student organization in which intra-party elections have been held every year for the past 78 years, keeping in mind democratic principles. If the ideological basis is its core, then democratic traditions are like a backbone for it. This is why Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba is going to celebrate its 78th Foundation Day.
While the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba is keeping democratic traditions and values alive for its organization, it also emphasizes the importance and need for platforms that promote democratic traditions and values for the country.
The strongest platform for the training of democratic traditions and values was the platform of the student union, which was banned by a dictator in the intoxication of his power. Unfortunately, forty years have passed since this ban, and many democratic governments have also been in power. However, the dictatorial and unconstitutional ban on the platform of the student union could not be removed.
This platform of the student union, which was the best way for students to solve their problems and reach the authorities, was also a source of preparing the political and social leadership of the future.
For forty consecutive years from 1984 to 2024, the Islami Jamiat Talaba made tireless efforts to revive the student union and even approached the Supreme Court. This year too, the Islami Jamiat Talaba Pakistan has filed a petition in the Supreme Court for the revival of the student union and elections. During the same period, this constitutional and democratic platform of the students was restored in a decision of the Supreme Court. But lest these announcements and decisions become useless like in the past, the Jamiat has started a campaign under the slogan of “Conduct Union Elections”.
This journey, which started under the leadership of twenty-five students from the Flower Building, gained light from the thoughts of Allama Iqbal and Imam Maududi and was protected by righteous youth, congratulations to the alumni and workers of the Jamiat all over the world on the 78th Foundation Day of this Islami Jamiat Talaba Pakistan.
